Jaipur has a lot of heritage. It won’t be wrong saying Niros Restaurant is a part of it. Niros is one of the oldest restaurants in Jaipur. It is said, it was opened even before partition of India. This is the most pristine and iconic place of Jaipur to have dinner. Niros is also known to be the first restaurant to serve Chinese food way back in 1960s. Niros is extremely popular, mainly because of the delicious cuisines which includes Continental, Tandoori, Mughlai, Chinese and more.
Most of the evening I had been to Niros, I had to wait for the table. It is a very popular restaurant and a lot of people enjoy Niros’ food.
Ambiance
Niros has fabulous interiors too. The fine dining experience is slightly upmarket. It has dim lighting, mirrored walls and mirrored ceiling, and bit of plants here and there. The monotone walls and plush furniture quite go along to give a picturesque feel. Some might say the decor is bit backdated, but I feel that is the charm of Niros.
There are sort of two rooms. One the big one as you enter. The other one is quite small and at the end. The hospitality is very good. The waiters are always near so you won’t have to scream you lungs out to call them. Service is also reasonably fast.
Food
Going to the most important here – food. The food is really yum. Whether it’s veg or non veg, you will get finger licking good food. You can check out the food menu here.
I have tried these:
1. Laal Maas
I’ll give up anything to have a taste of Laal Maas of Niros. It tastes havenly
It is full of flavour. We had asked it to be made less spicy, and it was aptly made. The richness and the aroma was soul touching. I love having Garlic Naan with Laal Maas. The combination is just yum.
2. Butter Chicken
The butter chicken of Niros had a good blend of spices and was bit sweet. I personally like butter chicken bit sweet. But my brother like spicy ones, he was bit disappointed. It looked slightly red, because of the food coloring. But it tasted really good. I had Rumali Roti with it.
3. Dal Makhani
It was bit different from what you get at other places. Good flavor. Nice to have once in a while.
4. Baked vegetables
Very well prepared. Tasted very good.
5. Caramel Custard
Luscious and delicious. I had the best Custard in Jaipur here. Every time I order two for myself, as one is never enough.
Cons:
1. The tables are too near each other, you can hear others discussions.
2. Bit old interiors, I loved it though.
3. Prices are on the higher side.
4. Most of the times you face problem with parking, not much space.
Pros:
1. Mouth watering food.
2. Comfortable seating with good air condition.
3. A lot of cusines are available.
4. Centrally located and on the main road. Very easy to find.
5. Good staff.
