5 Ways To Balance Your Love Life And Career

Career! Career! Career! isn’t the 20’s just about this? We all have faced this dilemma sometime or other. To some work has been of grave importance, while for others they have given up all for love. But what will be a wise thing to do? Somewhere we all are failing to balance our life.
New Year was approaching, and my longing for my husband had increased incessantly. It made me realize the number of times I had ignored him, when we were together.

Seriously, sit and think. How many times have you been with someone you care about, but at the same time you’re:
1. Going up and down your Facebook news-feed
2. Lost in what you have to do tomorrow
3. Half listening them
4. Talking ceaselessly about your projects, and neglecting to ask them about their day
Aren’t we all guilty of that?

We all go through this phase where your career seems all important, but you’re family matters to you as much. Extensive research on the subject of relationships and careers shows that people in successful relationships not only make more money, they’re healthier, live longer, and get more promotions than singles do. So how can you juggle your relationship and your career?

So how to fit your relationship and work in the same folder. How to create effective life balance:

1. Stay Connected

Make time for each other, even 2 minutes just to send a miss you. No matter what send each other those private texts. Let your significant other know, they’re on your mind always. Of course work is unavoidable. But Social Networking, remember? Write on any platform, even email them. But do it.

Yet Keep in mind, you’re at work… you should be working! Just a quick two-liner about how special he is will do just fine. No need to write huge IMs.

2. Manage Your Schedule

One of the major reasons in losing the balance is the lack of time and dedication. Pick a up a hobby together or cook together atleast once a week. If your work demands long hours, pre-plan the weekend. Go out on small vacation.
And when the private time ends, come back all relaxed and energized to work. Let your boss know as much as you value your relationship and personal life, you are similarly devoted to your professional success.

3. Know your priorities

More than often, we have to chose something or someone over other. What’s important is, when you are prioritizing what. For example, it’s your audit month or appraisal month, of course you would be giving all in to your work. You won’t think twice before pulling in an all righter. But don’t forget to communicate. Let your partner know they are important too. Plan for something special as soon as this period is over.
On the other hand, may be it’s your marriage anniversary or simply or other half is sick. Of course you will choose to be with them, devote your 100% to them. But don’t forget to let your co workers know they are important too. Keep them on the same page.

4. Unconditional Support

As you’re slogging off right now, your partner is also out there working hard. Don’t forget their career ambitions. Give adequate attention to your partners goals. Just be there for them. Show unconditional support, lift them up morally and let them know you care. You’re more likely to get the same in return.

5. Forgive and forget

Every now and then you make mistakes. So does your partner. Learn to forgive them. Every couple goes through disagreements, know when to hold your ground and when to let go. Apologize, learn from your mistakes. Remember the good times, envision what you have accomplished together. Finally, let go of grudges, holding on to it will just make life stressful for you. Forget the past, build something new.

Relationships are hard, but don’t lose patience. Remember love and forgiveness people.
